Job Description

What It's About

Partners Group is seeking to hire a Denver-based investment professional to join the direct private equity investment team. This role will encompass leading control buyouts with equity check sizes ranging from USD 250m to USD 1,500m+. Additionally, this role will support our growth equity initiatives with investments in disruptive and/or transformative businesses with equity checks from USD 30m to USD 100m+. The firm invests in a broad range of verticals including business services, industrials, TMT, healthcare, consumer and financial services. The Associate will be expected to work in the Healthcare industry vertical.

Partners Group's titles are unique and should not be benchmarked against 'traditional' post-MBA titles. The Associate's role is to work in all aspects of the investment life cycle, including thematic research, origination, execution, structuring, pricing and negotiation of new private equity investments. The Associate will also monitor portfolio company performance through the investment period and help the team assess and effect a monetization of the investment that maximizes return.

What We Expect

Specific responsibilities will include leading investment diligence and underwriting in all respects, including the following specific tasks:

  • Source business opportunities and discussing relevant factors with the firm’s senior managers;
  • Apply critical thinking and judgment in prioritizing investment opportunities;
  • Prepare industry and competitive research;
  • Lead construction of detailed, business unit-based financial models, including optimal capital structure, purchase price, adjustments and sensitivities to economic conditions;
  • Draft investment committee reports while supervising external resources in the process;
  • Interact with third party due diligence partners (tax professionals, attorneys, technical consultants, insurance, environmental, etc.);
  • Assist in negotiating debt facilities and support the Deal Captain in negotiating purchase agreements, employment agreements and incentive compensation for management teams;
  • Flex both upwards and downwards in order to coordinate the investment process and ensure every aspect of the work gets done.
  • Act proactively in all matters arising in the ordinary course of investment management, acting quickly to identify, address and correct issues;
  • Identify and evaluate strategic opportunities such as acquisitions, divestitures, or entering new market/verticals;
  • Provide support in investment exit process management.
