Job Summary
Position Summary: The Marketing Manager is a vital member of Nashville Ballet’s Sales & Marketing team, helping to drive the organization’s mission and overall success. This dynamic leader is responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns that grow School enrollment, boost ticket sales, and strengthen community engagement. Serving as a key connector across departments, the Marketing Manager brings strategic insight, creativity, and strong project management skills to lead cross-functional collaboration, ensuring brand consistency, message alignment, and timely delivery of high-impact content in support of sales, fundraising, and education initiatives. Core responsibilities include email marketing, paid advertising, project management, and grassroots outreach.
Location: On-site in Nashville, TN with flexibility for remote/hybrid work
Job Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
School of Nashville Ballet (SNB)
- Serve as first point of contact for all School of Nashville Ballet marketing initiatives with the goal of increasing school and class enrollment
- Develop strategic marketing, advertising, and promotional campaigns that reflect detailed research into target demographic and how to most effectively and efficiently reach them
- Collaborate with Director of Sales & Marketing on paid advertising strategy and placement
- In collaboration with School Directors and staff, coordinate School marketing emails, including enrollment notifications & offers, newsletters, surveys, etc.
- Assist with the development of SNB social media strategy and content across all platforms
- Assist with lead generation paid campaign through Meta and StudioHub platforms
- Serve in secondary capacity with photo/video archival process of School assets as needed and assist with the capture of new images based on strategic needs to best reflect/promote SNB
- Coordinate the production and ordering of collateral materials (e.g. posters, rack cards, signage)
- Assist with any ticket sales needs for School recitals or offers for Nashville Ballet performances
Advertising
- Work closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing to develop advertising plans and strategies for ticket sales, school enrollment, and other initiatives. This may include researching outlets, gathering proposals, and assessing opportunities within the existing advertising budget.
- Coordinate with internal and external clients to identify design needs for advertising efforts and project manage production of ads. This includes gathering necessary assets (logos, photos, credits), generating copy, writing television and radio scripts, submitting assets to graphic designer, circulating to appropriate staff for approval, etc.
- Ensure that all advertisements are produced and distributed to media partners meeting established deadlines, and final designs archived, by utilizing Asana project management software.
- Maintain relationships with advertising representatives and media partners
Email Marketing
- Oversee external email communications calendar across all departments through project management software, Asana, to ensure effective messaging and delivery.
- Support Director of Sales & Marketing with the scheduling, creation, and distribution of outbound marketing emails to specific audiences that help to drive ticket sales and/or keeps our patrons/supports informed
- Advise School of Nashville Ballet and Development staff on email marketing scheduling, effectiveness, and audience segmentation
- Explore opportunities to enhance the look and effectiveness of emails and maximize integration opportunities between CRM and email platform
- Work with Graphic Designer to ensure creative assets are developed to support efforts
- Collaborate with Tessitura Specialist to identify correct lists are utilized for each individual email
- Train employees as needed on email platform Wordfly and troubleshoot should issues arise
Event Management
- Coordinate planning and marketing efforts for special projects or events, including but not limited to Open House, School and NB2 performances, attendance at community festivals, promotional activations, etc.
- Work with Director of Sales & Marketing to develop Front of House strategy for all Nashville Ballet performances, assisting with the management staffing grid and assignments
- Represent Nashville Ballet at performances, School events, and community events as needed
Project Management & Organizational Support
- Serve as the “power user” of organization’s project management software, Asana, responsible for organizing workflows, maintaining project timelines, and ensuring cross-departmental visibility and accountability
- Manage internal processes (content gathering, proofreading, etc.) and external partnership to ensure on time production of programs for performances including communication with TPAC Guest Services staff regarding program and insert deliveries
- Lead collaboration with the Development team by offering strategic counsel, ensuring adherence to marketing timelines, brand standards, and executional excellence.
- Work to identify and build relationships in the Nashville community utilizing grass roots marketing and advertising efforts
- Assist with organization’s copywriting needs, working closely with Marketing, Artistic, Community Engagement, and School of Nashville Ballet staff in developing clear, mission-aligned content for digital and printed materials that support marketing, fundraising, and educational initiatives

Qualifications
Work Requirements and Qualifications:
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
2. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Effective project management skills, including setting and meeting deadlines
- Ability to make decisions and creatively solve problems
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Attention to detail
- Aptitude with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and databases
- Working knowledge of Adobe or other graphic design platform (i.e. Canva) a plus
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission of the organization
3. Experience:
- Minimum 1-3 years marketing/advertising (non-internship) experience preferred
- Experience working with email marketing and social media platforms preferred
- Experience in a nonprofit or performing arts setting preferred
4. Requirements: Ability to work some evenings and weekends for events and performances
